SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 31st January 2011 – Nunky Pty Ltd today announced the global launch of its first software application ‘iYahrzeit’ on the App Store. iYahrzeit is used to calculate, store and remind one of all their important Yahrzeits.
“It’s difficult to know or remember when a loved one’s Yahrzeit occurs, as the dates change every year” said Nunky’s Founder Gila Rakusin-Frankl. “No App like this existed on the App Store and we felt it should. Remembering and acknowledging Yahrzeits show that you truly care about the soul of the departed and the loved ones who are mourning”.
Yahrzeit (Yiddish word) is the anniversary of the death of a close relative (parent, sibling, child or spouse). This application features key Yahrzeit customs like lighting a Yahrzeit candle and reciting Mourners Kaddish.
It converts the Gregorian to Hebrew calendar and sends automatic notification reminders on approaching Yahrzeits. iYahrzeit is linked directly to the address book, so one can contact the deceased’s relatives to wish them ‘Long Life’.
